Goodbye from the Intern

Sarah FredendallHey, it’s me again- Intern Sarah! Just a refresher, I am a senior at St. John Fisher College studying Media and Communication and I am graduating in two weeks, so unfortunately, my time here at Break the Ice Media has come to an end.

This week I say goodbye to a wonderful team of people. I have had the pleasure of working with the Break the Ice Media team as well as the Clark CSM team for the past 4 months, and I have had a wonderful experience.

To say I have learned a lot is an understatement. I have worked on social media, press releases and email blasts as well as edited copy and I even got to work on a Request for Proposal (RFP) (keep your fingers crossed for the team!). With all of those tasks, I got to learn and practice skills that will carry not only into my professional life, but into my personal life too. I have laughed about silly things, been attacked by a rogue stink bug and we even enjoyed canal walks and Pittsford Dairy ice cream breaks on a few occasions. The balance that I found with work and fun has been something that I have never experienced before and I am so glad that I got to experience it with this team.

I am so proud to have a been a part of this team, even for a short while. I have learned and grown so much as a person these past 4 months and I know that I have chosen the right career path to follow. When I walk across the commencement stage in two weeks, I know that I am ready for whatever the world has to throw at me, and that in great part is because of the professional and life skills I learned in my time here at Break the Ice Media.

I know that I am leaving a wonderful place full of knowledgeable people, both on the Break the Ice Media team and the Clark CSM team, who I am proud to call not only my colleagues, but my friends. Thank you Break the Ice Media and Clark CSM for all that you have taught me and for showing me that I can make it out there, I just have to have fun doing it.
